Description | In December 2012, Hidroelectrica del Alto Porce SAS (Hidralpor), a subsidiary of the Colombian company Mincivil, was granted the right to build and operate a run-of-river hydro power plant located in the Aburra River, Department of Antioquia. The sponsor committed to start supplying all its power to the national grid in December 2015 through a connection with Empresa Publica de Medellin (EPM)'s network. The sponsor took part in an auction for the sale of electricity in December 2011 offering a tariff of US$ 15.7/MWh. The power plant was named Carlos Lleras Restrepo Hydro Power Plant (78.2 MW). The sponsor committed to invest US$ 206.6 million in the construction of the power plant. As of October 2014, 78.6% of the construction works were concluded. The environmental license was issued in August 2011. In October 2012, the sponsor applied for carbon credits. |
