Description
Description | The proposed operation aims to improve nutrition and household resilience by providing targeted, time-bound cash transfers and linked livelihood support while strengthening delivery systems. The project will target areas where malnutrition and stunting are prevalent, delivering six-month Cash for Nutrition (CfN) benefits to pregnant women and mothers of children under five in covered communities. These transfers will be complemented by Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) that prioritize C4N beneficiaries, enabling savings, microenterprise, and income-generating activities to sustain nutrition gains beyond the benefit period. Implementation will be sequenced geographically and closely coordinated with the World Bank's proposed Yemen Health, Nutrition and WASH Project , with aims to deliver integrated health, nutrition and WASH services to targeted areas of Yemen while building institutional capacity. The project components include (i) targeted cash transfers and nutrition counseling for pregnant women and mothers with children under five; (ii) livelihood support through VSLA formation, capitalization, and enterprise coaching; and (iii) delivery systems strengthening for targeting, payments, monitoring, and multisectoral coordination. |
