Cinenord, among Scandinavia’s most successful production companies, produces high-end, commercially, and acclaimed TV shows – recently demonstrated with an iEMMY for “Atlantic Crossing”. The “Casper and Emma” franchise is based on well-known children´s books and profitably produced seven feature films and two seasons prior. We are now in the making of season 3. For the first two seasons of “Casper and Emma,” we regarded the project as locally and traditionally financed by Norwegian and Scandinavian financiers. We reach out across Europe to finance through a new co-production model in this third season - combining international financing and production. We aim to add European value and credentials, gaining valuable insight into broadening the scope and taking the “Casper and Emma” franchise to a new level. We actively utilize second windows, digital rights and partnerships, and typical forms of financing like deferment, license fees, and investments with this new approach - stretching from Norway, Finland, and Denmark in the north through mid-Europe, Netherlands, Belgium, Benelux, and Germany and extend as far as Greece and Malta. Cinenord’s attention toward children’s content resonates with Beta Film´s values. Its strategy focuses primarily on public broadcasters in central Europe, where “Carsten and Emma” is considered significant appeal - the show has traveled to 16 countries. Beta has strong relationships with networks and VOD platforms in core markets: Spain, France, Germany, and Italy. NRK will have the base financing for the show. Cinenord has implemented an environmental vision, mission statement, and code of conduct. We are implementing initiatives to color the production green by using remote workflow in post-production and hiring an environmental chief. Further international cooperation will secure diversity in the crew and cast in the production.
