Cast Iron Watermain Replacement On Two Streets in the City of Markham

This project involves replacement of cast iron watermains at the end of their lifecycle. Streets or parts of streets for this work are prioritized based on Markham’s Cast Iron Watermain Condition Assessment and include: 1) Steeles Avenue East - Leslie Street to east of Fairway Heights; Steeles Avenue East - from west of Laureleaf Road to Bayview Avenue, 2) Church/Wooten Way re-servicing Replacement of aging cast-iron watermains through this project will achieve the outcomes of reduced service interruptions, water quality mainenance, reduced risks and liabilities, and continued good customer service. In addition this project would avoid further maintenance costs on an asset that is almost at the end of its service life.
