With more than seventy years of experience and extensive knowledge of the film industry, CASTELAO PICTURES has a long track record as a distributor of national and international films in Spain. The company operates commercially under the Filmax brand (registered trademark). Some of the titles that the company has distributed to great acclaim from audiences and critics are the multi-award-winning Slumdog Millionaire (Danny Boyle), winner of 8 Oscars, and Million Dollar Baby (Clint Eastwood), winner of 4 Oscars. Our catalogue also includes important European films such as Entre la vie et la mort by Giordano Gederlini, Les promeesses by Thomas Kurithof, The Burnt Orange Heresy by Giuseppe Tornatore, Love Sarah by Eliza Schroeder, The song of names, a co-production between Canada and Hungary directed by François Girard, and the most recent The Good Teachers (Thomas Lilti), a film that has allowed us to generate the potential fund in 2024 and for which we present this Film Distribution proposal in 2025. CASTELAO PICTURES attends the main international markets & festivals. Every year, our company travels around the world looking for special and original films to release in Spain: Berlinale, Cannes, TIFF, Venice, TIFF AFM, MIA Market, Busan, etc. Our objective in 2025 is to further increase the volume of European film acquisitions and to have another 2-4 new titles for release in 2026. We have generated a potential fund that we want to reinvest in P&A for the upcoming films during the next 12 months after the sign of the contract. We want to reinvest on 1-2 titles depending on the release and marketing strategy to be defined.
