Description | In June 2009, the private consortium, Caticlan International Airport Development Corp. (CIADC), signed a 25-year BROT concession contract with the Philippines' Department of Transportation and Communications to upgrade and expand the Caticlan Airport. The concession was extendable for 25 years with another renewable 25 years. The project was awarded through competitive bidding but no detailed information was available. Phase 1 of the Caticlan project involved the improvement and renovation of the existing terminal building and Phase 2 involved the extension of runway from 950 meters to 2.1 km. The information on the number of runway was not available. The total investment in facilities was estimated at USD 52 million (PHP 2.5 billion) and was funded through a project finance structure of 70% debt and 30% equity.
