Description | Duke Energy is modernizing and expanding power generation at the existing Cayuga power plant in Vermillion County, Indiana. The project involves building two combined cycle natural gas turbines to increase generating capacity by 470 megawatts, bringing the total capacity to 1,476 megawatts, enough to power 1.1 million homes in Indiana. Construction has started with site grading and underground piping installation. The first unit is expected online in 2029 and the second in 2030. The project supports over 3,700 jobs. |
