Description | CDP Worldwide (Europe) gGmbH’s 2022-23 programme of work aims to strengthen and enhance EU climate and biodiversity policies, guide the transition to a circular economy, build capacity related to energy efficiency, and support the EU’s 2030 and 2050 climate commitments and adaptation strategy through: 1) direct engagement with companies, investors, cities and regions to encourage them to disclose information about their environmental performance on issues including nature, biodiversity and planetary boundaries; 2) supporting investors with conduct sector and portfolio analyses, assessing a range of environmental indicators across their portfolios, create exclusion and divestment criteria, inform broker recommendations and design new financial products ; 3) conduct surveys through complex questionnaires and collect the latest and most relevant data through our electronic disclosure platform; 4) refine our scoring methodology to incorporate new features and ensure better comparability of data and sound data quality checks and track progress against a benchmark of what is needed to ensure a transition to a 1.5ºC, nature-positive world; 5) analyse key data points and releasing scores which rank the disclosing companies and cities according to their performance and commitments; 6) publishing annual reports with scores and key findings such as European and global trends in disclosure, environmental impacts and corporate commitments to climate action as well as sectoral analysis; 7) disseminate our analyses among investors, companies, policymakers, public sector organizations, government bodies, academics and the general public. The programme is focused on three target groups - policy makers and officials; companies and investors; cities and public procurement departments. Communication and outreach to media and stakeholders such as NGOs, research institutions and the global public are a cross-cutting objectives. |
