Description | The Center Hill Solar Array is a $24 million project redeveloping the long-closed Center Hill Landfill in Cincinnati into a 10 MW solar array. It is one of the city's largest renewable projects, expected to power about 1,700 homes annually and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 16,000 metric tons per year. The project involves a joint development between UPower Energy and the city of Cincinnati, with the city owning 4.9 MW and UPower owning 4.9 MW, contracted back to the city. The site is expected to be operational by early 2027 and is part of Cincinnati's Green Cincinnati Plan to achieve carbon neutrality and stabilize municipal energy costs. |
