Description | SCPL started generating wind power in 1994 with the installation of 2 wind mills with capacity of .250 MW each. In 1997, the company invested US$ 5.3 million in the installation of 8 additional mills with capacity of .750 MW each, increasing its capacity to a total of 6 MW. To finance this investment, SCPL entered into a joint venture agreement with IFU and Micon (both from Denmark), creating the company Pecorsa to develop and operate the wind mill park. In 2000, Pecorsa reached a supply agreement with the spanish company Gamesa Eolica for the setting up of 16 wind mills, representing a total investment of US$ 7 million (financing for this investment was provided by the BBV and Credicoop). This last investment will increase SCPL's capacity by 10.6 MW. None None |
