Description | This project consists of development of a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling facility in Central Java, Indonesia. The plant is expected to recycle up to 48,000 tons of PET bottles annually, diverting them from landfills, open burning, or leakage into the ocean, and to produce 36,000 tons of rPET. The investment stands at $60 million, of which the Asian Development Bank (ADB) provides $22.1 million blue loan and another $22.1 million blue loan comes from the Leading Asia's Private Infrastructure Fund (LEAP). Blue loans are financing instruments that aim to safeguard access to clean water, protect underwater environments, and invest in a sustainable water economy. The project company is PT ALBA Tridi Plastics Recycling Indonesia, sponsored by ALBA Group Asia.
