Description

Description

The goal of the projects is to decommission the East McDermid Dam and associated reservoir to reduce the risk of flooding for downstream residences and infrastructure (including increased protection to 50-100 residents). The dam has been identified as a flood hazard to downstream properties due to the potential for entrainment of material (debris flow) and a resulting significant increase in volume. Removal of the dam and restoration of the reservoir and stream channel would eliminate the flood hazard. Construction activities include: clearing and grubbing, installation of water diversion around dam, equipment access, excavation, restoration of the stream bed, stabilization of the stream banks, and revegetation. Planning and permitting Contractor Procurement Construction, including mobilization and demobilization, excavation and site restoration.
