Central Kootenay - Galena Trail Restoration Project

The project will increase access to recreation by replacing the cable car crossing and wooden bridge/boardwalk components of the Galena Trail. Currently the trail is closed and the works will enable it be re-opened and will re-connect Rosebery to Three Forks. The project works include: - Cable car crossing restoration - remedy abutment erosion, install new tripods, replace wooden steps and platforms; - Wooden bridge/boardwalk replacement - remove existing infrastructure, relocate structure to minimize bridge/boardwalk spans, reduce height of structure above the ground, and upgrade from wood to metal spans; and - All related works.
