Description

Description

Install a centralized Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)/Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) computer at the Red Lake Water Pollution Control Plant, and radio communication network with each of the remote stations. Station wet well levels, pump start/stops and station alarms would be transmitted to the central Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) computer for monitoring and reporting purposes. Integration of all wastewater systems (9 liftstations and Balmertown Water Pollution Control Plant). The OUPUT Benefit to the community is the reaction time is lessened for system operators to react to system emergencies and reducing downtime due to unexpected/undiagnosed system component failures. This will be a valuable tool for the following reasons: 1. Central control, operator can check the status of any remote station from one convenient location, 2. Troubleshooting tool, operators can use Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) features (trending) to identify, diagnose and resolve pumping station issues and 3. Liability, can be reduced in the event of a basement flooding claim if the pumping station can be proven (through trending) to have been functioning normally at the time of the incident.
