Description | TotalEnergies has applied for planning permission for its 1.5GW Centre Manche offshore wind farm located more than 40 km off the coast of Normandy, France. The project will be the largest renewables project in France, generating around 6TWh per year to power over 1 million homes. The application includes technical and environmental surveys, a preliminary design, and an installation program. The project represents an investment of €4.5 billion and will employ up to 2,500 people during the three-year construction phase. The project focuses on sourcing from European suppliers, particularly for wind turbines and electric cables. Centre Manche Energies, a TotalEnergies subsidiary, is developing the project and will consult with local stakeholders to integrate the project into the region's economy and community. |
