After detailed discussions and surveys with rural bureaucrats and based on our many years observations in and around rural areas, we have observed that the functions of ruralorcity development bodies including agricultural, cleanliness, garden maintenance, Water tank maintenance, crematorium maintenance, hospital management, mosquito management, theater management, school management etc. produces recurring costs to the rural development bodies. Artificial Intelligence is the basis of our smart city and smart village based programs. The needs and problems of every rural locality are unique and novel innovative artificial intelligence based solutions are required for these problems. This generates the need for a CENTER OF EXCELLENCE in ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE that focuses on the needs of rural regions and development of solutions, accurate databases and knowledge dissemination methodologies. We want this Artificial Intelligence lab to focus on solving these problems with innovative technology-enabled solutions. Artificial intelligence can provide solutions that will help rural development bodies in efficient use of their present manpower by enabling more accountability of manpower and better control by authorities along with enhanced access to authentic data and ground truth helping rural development bodies reduce costs of their services and thus reduce huge recurring costs. Agricultural Development Trust Baramati has been working for upliftment of rural areas since last 48 years. We will welcome annual lists of problem statements from the rural development bodies for the members of the Lab to develop innovative solutions. Along with this, Lab projects will focus on solving community and need based problems in our society.
