Description | Centurion, a Western Australian transport operator, has commissioned two of Australia's first fully off-grid, 100% renewable energy battery electric truck projects at its Perth Airport depot. The project includes two charging sites (North and South) powered by rooftop solar, battery storage, and backup generators using hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). The fleet consists of 30 Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 battery electric trucks, supported by 4.4MW of rooftop solar, 10.3MWh of battery storage, and 15 dual-port slow and fast chargers. The project aims to reduce emissions and provide reliable electric truck services fueled by green energy. |
