The main aim of the project “CERV Action Plan-FI” is to promote the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV) and its thematic priorities in Finland. Special emphasis is in raising awareness of the programme and reaching out to civil society and beneficiaries who have no previous experience of EU funding. The project also aims to support stakeholders in applying for EU funding by focusing on building their capacity. Thus, the project contributes to the effective implementation of the relevant Commission strategies and action plans linked to the CERV programme. The main methodology selected for the project, managed by the Finnish Ministry of Justice, is the multistakeholder approach where cooperation and participation from different sectors of the society is emphasized. This approach aims to increase cooperation between public authorities and civil society, which in turn promotes transparency, legitimacy and effective implementation of the CERV programme and its priorities. The project will result in increased awareness of the programme at national, regional and local levels, strengthened capacity of beneficiaries and enhanced cooperation by actively involving the civil society and other relevant entities. In the long-term, the project will increase the amount and quality of applications from Finnish stakeholders, create better conditions for the civil society to develop and implement projects from the programme, thus contributing to the construction of a Union based on the respect for fundamental rights, equality, Rule of Law and democracy. A CERV-specific website in both national languages (Finnish and Swedish) will be promoted and regularly updated for communication and dissemination purposes. Seminars, workshops, networking, trainings and information events will be held regularly.The project will establish new networks in order to reach out to all potential stakeholders but also build upon already existing networks and platforms.
