Chabahar Port Development and Chabahar-Zahedan Railway Project

under construction

The Chabahar Port project is a strategic infrastructure project aimed at enhancing regional connectivity, particularly for India and its access to Central Asia. The project includes the development of the port and the construction of the Chabahar-Zahedan railway, which is a vital link for the port's transit capacity. Despite Western sanctions and ongoing war, the project continues to progress steadily, with the railway reaching 90% physical progress and rail-laying operations in the Chabahar section expected to be completed by mid-June 2026, connecting the port to Iran's national railway network.
