Chad - Public Finance Capacity Building Support Project

This project is designed to help the Government of Chad to improve the efficient and transparent use of public resources, through the strengthening of the public finance Management system. The project was initiated from the following observations: weak skills in planning and investment programming in view of the implementation of a Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the need to complete the institutional framework of the markets public. It is part of the Action Plan for Strengthening Capacities in Public Finances. Thus, in order to overcome these difficulties, an emphasis has been placed in the project on four essential components: a) the establishment of an institutional mechanism for implementing reforms; (b) strengthening of strategic planning and implementation of results-based management; (c) strengthening of the General Inspectorate of Finance; and (d) support for the development of computerized management systems.
