Description
Description | The 27-km toll road has an estimated average traffic volume of 10,000 vehicles per day. It is operated by PACSA (Tribasa holds 70% and CIESA, acquired by Tribasa in 1993, holds 30% of the company's shares). Financial closure was initially achieved as follows: 25% in equity and 75% in debt from BANOBRAS (state owned bank), Cremi and Interacciones. Because of financial difficulties faced by the sponsors (caused by Mexico's devaluation crisis in 1994 and by the overestimation of project's revenues), the Mexican government included this project among those to be transferred to the government in 1999 (the government, in exchange, will pay the related debts of the sponsors). (Note: all values were converted to 1991 values from their original 1993 values.) |
