Description

The project involves the development of a multipurpose port terminal in Chancay, Lima, Peru. The port will handle containerized cargo, general cargo, non-mineral bulk cargo, liquid cargo, and rolling cargo. The scope of work includes the development of the following 3 components: Port Operational Zone which includes the docks, breakwaters, maritime entry channels, storage areas for bulk and rolling cargo containers, maintenance areas and workshops; The entrance Complex includes the vehicular foreport, entrance gates to the terminal, customs inspection area, administrative offices and logistics and support services areas; and A 1.8 km Underground Viaduct Tunnel will connect the Entrance Complex with the Port Operational Zone constituting a segregated and exclusive road corridor for cargo traffic related to the port operation. It has 3 vehicular lanes, two conveyor belts for solid bulks, and multiproduct pipes for liquid bulks. The project will be developed in phases, Phase 1 of the terminal will have 4 berths, of which 2 are multi-purpose berths and 2 are container berths with a total annual designed capacity of 1 million TEU.
