Chandigarh Sky-Garden Elevated Pathway Project

planned

An ambitious and futuristic elevated pathway project called 'Sky-Garden' proposed by Chandigarh Mayor Saurabh Joshi. The project aims to transform Chandigarh into a global eco-smart urban model by creating high-tech elevated pedestrian corridors inspired by New York's High Line and Singapore's OCBC Skyway. It incorporates the concept of Urban Layering to double the city's green potential by shifting pedestrian pathways above ground, freeing space below for enhanced landscaping. The project will use AI and Digital Twin Modelling to protect heritage trees and install adaptive smart lighting to minimize light pollution.
