Description | The Chandikhol project is a 4 million tonne underground rock cavern crude oil storage facility being set up by Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISPRL) in the Dankari hill region of Jajpur district, Odisha. The project aims to enhance India's energy security by providing strategic petroleum reserves. It includes critical infrastructure such as an onshore pipeline linking the facility to Paradip and a proposed offshore oil terminal via a Single Point Mooring (SPM) system for crude transshipment. The reserve will be integrated with the Indian Oil Corporation's pipeline network connecting key refineries. |
