Changing Perceptions through Literature

This project involves the publication of 10 titles authored by prominent writers whose success has transcended national boundaries and whose work has gained international recognition & appreciation (U. Eco, S. de Beauvoir, R. Schami, J. Navarro, etc.). This collection also comprises literary works of Finnish, Swedish, Romanian, Dutch and Albanian literature authored by new writers (T. Țîbuleac, R. Liksom, G. Banushi, etc.), who thanks to their originality, strong narrative voice and universal themes in their work, are quickly gaining recognition at an international level. Our project aims to further promote European cultural & linguistic diversity, enrich the heritage of the best European literature in our country, by introducing Albanian readers to works from countries that remain underrepresented in the Albanian book market, and at the same time contribute to the translation and circulation of works written in lesser-used languages: An Albanian work of literature will be translated into Italian. We will first and foremost seek to rekindle & spread of the joy of reading, while also encouraging a reflection on problems that are a result of social prejudices and environmentally-irresponsible behavior. The selected literary titles, aimed at children & YA (5 titles) and those aimed at adults (5 titles), tackle some of the most sensitive and relevant topics in today's world: - The value and importance of diversity – diversity with regard to gender, age, sexual identity, ethnicity, religious affiliation etc. These works encourage and promote awareness of various sensitive and highly-important topics and a reflection on our quest for identity in a diverse world. -“Eco-love” (ecology+love), respect for and attention towards nature, the value of peace and the beauty of diversity and their importance for the future of our planet.
