Description | In September of 1998, Earth Tech, a subsidiary of Tyco International Limited of the U.S., was awarded a 20-year BOT agreement to develop a water supply, treatment and distribution system that was to produce up to 60,000 cubic meters of water/day for a population of 100,000, plus a tourist population of 1.3 million during peak periods. The project also included the responsibility for billing customers in Changli county in Hebei Province. To implement the contract, the Qing Huang Dao Pacific Water Company was created as the project company which was owned by Earth Tech (80%) and the state-owned Heibi Changli Water Supply Co. Ltd. (20%). The total project cost was US$11 million. None None |
