Description | Asia Power will hold a 25 percent stake in the joint venture company Changxhou Huayuan Electric Power Co Ltd. (CHEPC) after an initial 16.5 million yuan (Approx. US$2 million) investment. Total investment was expected to be 163.53 million yuan for the project. The other partners in the JV were the largely state-owned Changzhou Changxin Electric Power Co Ltd, Yangzhou Suyuan Group Co Ltd, Jiangsu Electric Power Development Co Ltd and the China Huadian Group Co Ltd. CHEPC will build, manage and operate the power plant in Changzhou City in Jiangsu Province, China. The combined-cycle project would comprise a 39.6-MW gas turbine and 20-MW steam turbine. The plant was due on-line by year-end 2003. Asia Power already owned a 25% stake in a 51-MW oil-fired plant in Changzhou which it acquired in March of 1999. None None |
