Description

Main objective : The CHANNEL CIRCUS ARTS ALLIANCE project aims at spreading circus works on both sides of the Channel, while creating a durable network of circus professionals in order to expand their distribution and production possibilities. The project will implement different actions to widen potential audiences, to allow them to better understand and appreciate new forms of circus. These actions will also target an audience unaware of the cultural offer. Main actions : - Organisation of events: Cross Spring: La Brèche in Cherbourg (April 2010) and “Carte Blanche” Lighthouse Poole in Dorset (October 2010) - Organisation of professional meetings in France: an interregional meeting organised by the ONDA (National Office for Artistic Distribution), gathering presenters, and a meeting of distributors from South East England and North West France, in partnership with ODIA Normandie and Activate. - Organisation of professional meetings in the UK: meetings with producers and distributors from British, Scottish and Irish networks, and meetings/exchanges with professionals, artists and distributors from South West England. - Implementation of cultural actions in France: - Creation of circus teaching kits for schools - Information meetings - Organisation of workshops allowing artists to introduce their work to specific publics (autistic children etc.) or selected groups (Beaux-Arts School students etc.) - Implementation of cultural actions in the UK: - Creation of teaching kits - Films and conferences - Master class for professional musicians - Circus discovery workshops - Master class for professional jugglers - Photo exhibition
