Description | A solar panel farm proposed by Solar Generation MW to be built on 24 acres of land west of Chapin. The farm will generate 4.59 megawatts of energy at peak output as a community solar project providing renewable energy to customers unable to install solar panels on their property. Electricity will be sold to Ameren Illinois, with subscribers receiving a 10% discount on their electricity bills. Construction is expected to take six to twelve months, with a 25-year lease on the land. The company will issue a $300,000 bond for deconstruction at the end of the lease and return the land to its original state. |
