Description | The Clean Energy Fund of Texas (CEFTX) is launching a $156 million initiative called CHARGE (Communities Helping America Renew and Grow the Economy) to fund community solar and battery storage projects. Minority-Serving Institutions, including Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic Serving Institutions, and tribal colleges and universities, are encouraged to lead these projects across 18 states and Washington, D.C. The program aims to establish 40 community solar projects generating 95 megawatts of power and 48 megawatt-hours of storage, benefiting 8,870 households with a 25% reduction in energy bills, creating 1,900 jobs, and generating $137 million in community wealth. |
