Charlottesville Water Supply Interconnection Project

The project involves interconnecting the Ravenna Reservoir with the Ragged Mountain Reservoir to enhance the city's water supply system. The interconnected reservoirs will have a total capacity of approximately 3.3 billion gallons, including 2.1 billion gallons at Ragged Mountain, 900 million gallons at Ravenna, and 350 million gallons at Sugar Hollow. The construction is expected to last four years and will involve extensive road disturbances with trenching limited to 100 feet at a time to minimize disruption. The project also includes managing vegetation in city-owned parcels used as informal parks to maintain accessibility and infrastructure integrity.
