On June 2005, China National Nuclear Corporation (China, 65%), was signed a Build Own, Operate and Transfer agreement with PRIVATE POWER & INFRASTRUCTURE BOARD (PPIB) for the construction, operation and transfer for a 20 years term of a 330 MW, Nuclear power plant at Chashma. The contractor was the Chinese government represented by China National Nuclear Corporation. Under the BOOT agreement, China National Nuclear Corporation was to supply 330 MW of energy to PPIB for a term of 20 years. The remainder of the energy was to be sold to the public. Following a direct negotiation process, Chinese government was awarded to set up a 330 MW nuclear power plant at Chashma. The total project cost was 860 US millions. The project reached financial closure in December 2005, according to a CNNC press release. The plant’s first grid connection took place on March 14, 2011.
