CHB IT Park Housing Project

stalled

The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) proposed a housing project in the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park (RGCTP) initially planned as a high-rise flat-based project with 728 flats in seven-storey towers. The project faced rejection from the National Wildlife Board in 2022 due to environmental concerns. Later, CHB sought permission to replace the group housing model with individual plotted housing, but the UT urban planning department refused this request citing the Chandigarh Master Plan 2031, which prohibits individual plotted development and recommends high-density group housing in 4-6 storey flats. The project is spread over 123 acres, with the original plan costing Rs 643 crore.
