Cheddar Two Reservoir and Transfer Project

A new reservoir named 'Cheddar Two' is planned to be built south of the existing Cheddar One reservoir in Somerset. It will be fed by the Cheddar Yeo and River Axe and will primarily serve the Somerset Council area and parts of neighboring counties. The project includes construction of new underground pipelines to transport water to various locations including North Petherton, Kilve, Watchet, Williton, and Tiverton. The project aims to address water shortages due to climate change and population growth, improve water security, and provide environmental benefits by reducing reliance on unsustainable river abstractions.
