Chenab Bridge Railway Project

Chenab Bridge, the sector's highest rail bridge, was constructed to provide connectivity from Kashmir to the rest of India. The project involved overcoming challenges such as accessing the region surrounded by steep Himalayan slopes, constructing temporary roads, and using specialized equipment including the world's tallest crossbar cable cranes. The arch of the bridge was erected using cantilever techniques, and a key milestone was the meeting of the arch from both banks in April 2021. The project also included the construction of viaducts and the use of a NABL-approved laboratory for quality assurance.
