Description | New China Hong Kong Group has a 30-year joint venture contract with the Sichuan Highway Construction and Development Corporation for the construction and operation of the 90km highway linking Chengdu and Mianyang. New China has a 60% equity stake in the project. In 1994, two Asian infrastructure investors, Peregrine and IAG, indirectly took equity stakes equal to a total of US$99.6 million through a private placement by New China. The total project cost is estimated at US$170 million. New China has revenue shortfall and currency devaluation guarantees from the provincial partner. The project company plans to raise toll rates every three years. New China also has an option to build two additional roads in Chengdu. None None |
