It is a gas peaker plant designed to operate about 33% of the time during especially hot and cold days to quickly generate power and ease strain on the power grid. The facility will be built at the site of a former coal burning plant and where two gas turbines currently operate, located just south of the James River outside of Richmond, Virginia. The project is slated for completion in 2029. |
