Chestor Hills is a gated housing society in Solan offering studio apartments, 1, 2, and 3 BHK units, and villa residences. The project has been embroiled in controversy due to allegations of benami transactions involving non-agriculturist promoters, violating the HP Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1972. An inquiry found that non-Himachali promoters controlled and marketed the project through partnership firms, circumventing statutory land ownership restrictions. Despite recommendations for land vesting, the Chief Secretary favored the promoters citing loans from financial institutions. Residents have also complained about environmental degradation and lack of civic amenities.
