Description | Chhapra Hajipur Expressway Ltd, a subsidiary of Madhucon Projects Ltd, was created to implement a project to increase from four to six lanes the existing 64 km road from km 143.200 to km 207.200 on the Chhapra - Hajipur section of NH-19 in the State of Bihar. The National Highway Authority of India awarded the project to Madhucon Projects Ltd on Design, Build Finance, Operate, and Transfer ("DBFOT") annuity basis. The concession period was for 15 years including 2 1/2 year of construction period. The project cost was estimated to be INRs8125 million (US$177.7 million). The project achieved the financial closure in December 2010. State Bank of India was the leader arranger of the consortium. Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, Indusind Bank and Punjab & Sind Bank were the other lenders. SBI Capital Markets Ltd syndicated the debt of Rs. 585 crores for the project. The Company commenced the construction work in this project in December 2010. |
