Description | In December 2008, the Chibi City Lushui River shiplock (6.7 million tons) and hydropower (8MW) project commenced in Chibi City, Hubei Province. A local private company Chibi Lushui River Shipping and Power Development Co. Ltd. procured the project through competitive bidding and will build and operate the project for 50 years before transferring it back to the government. The total investment is RMB 392 million (US$ 56.08 million). Chibi Lushui River Shipping and Power Development Co. Ltd. owns 100% of the project and the equity:debt ratio is 36:64. According to the latest information (http://www.chibi.cn/show.asp?id=10524) in July 2009, the project progresses well. However the exact financial closing date cannot be identified. Construction commencement date is used instead. This project is however very special since a shiplock is not covered by any type of project in this dataset. It was temporarily classified as a 'terminal'. |
