Chicago Bears Arlington Heights Stadium Project

planned

The Chicago Bears are planning to build a new indoor stadium on the Arlington International Racecourse property in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The project requires about $860 million in infrastructure work and tax certainty negotiated with local taxing districts. The stadium's megaproject bill must pass in the Illinois legislature and be signed by the governor for the project to proceed. The Bears are considering leaving Illinois for Indiana if the Illinois legislation does not progress soon, as Indiana has already passed its stadium funding legislation and is close to finalizing local taxing for a stadium in Hammond, Indiana.
