Chicago Bears Arlington Heights Stadium

planned

Illinois lawmakers advanced a 'megaprojects' bill aimed at facilitating the construction of a new Chicago Bears stadium in Arlington Heights. The bill includes tax breaks and incentives to make the project feasible, but the Bears have stated that additional amendments are necessary for the project to proceed. The Bears and the NFL are willing to invest several billion dollars in the stadium, but require a capped property tax commitment to secure financing. The bill also includes provisions to protect taxpayers and allocate funds for property tax relief.
