Description | The Chicago Fire soccer team is building a new 22,000-seat stadium called McDonald's Park in downtown Chicago at The 78. The $750 million stadium is privately financed, with $424 million in property tax revenue allocated by the Chicago City Council's Finance Committee to fund surrounding infrastructure such as new roads, pedestrian walkways, a city-owned 1,200-space parking garage, and a public plaza. The Fire broke ground in March 2026 and aim to open the stadium for the 2028 season. Infrastructure work is expected to continue for three years after the stadium opens. |
