Description
Description | In June 2008, Transmantaro, owned by Colombian companies Interconexion Electrica S.A. E.S.P (ISA, 60%) and Empresa de Energía de Bogota S.A. E.S.P (EEB, 40%), was awarded the BOT contract for the Chilca – La Planicie - Zapallal Transmission Line at a tender organized by state investment promotion agency ProInversion. The line consisted of 300km of 500kV and 220kV line as well as three substations. ISA's US $55.2 million bid (33.7 mln euro) bid outbid Spanish Isonor Transmision and Peruvian Abengoa Peru. The value of the bid was calculated using a formula that took into account the cost of investment, operation and maitenance, construction timeline and the percentage of state subsidy required. Construction of the US $130 million project was 66% complete as of June 2010. The line was to strengthen the transmission system that connects Chilca district in Lima region with the national grid given new gas-fired thermo plants south of the capital. The line was also to transport power from the Platanal hydroelectric plant. The project became operational in March 2011. |
