Description | The proposed action aims to support child-friendly justice in Greece and Cyprus, the two MS with the lowest scores in this area, (2020 Justice Scoreboard). It will do so through multilateral exchanges of good practice, interdisciplinary, cross-border training for 235 judges and prosecutors and 8 trainers in EL and CY. The partnership brings together specialised actors in judicial training, child psychology and the rights of the child, and has the support of the Greek Ministry of Justice, the Greek National School of the Judiciary and the Cyprus School for Judicial Training. The supporting authorities have committed to continued use of the project outputs after its conclusion. Specifically, the project will a) establish an interdisciplinary Training Committee of experts from 4 MS (BG, CY, EL, IT); b) assess training needs and map good practices in child friendly justice; c) develop an e-learning platform; d) train judges, prosecutors and trainers through 2 study visits, 10 synchronous, cross-border training workshops and asynchronous e-learning; e) raise awareness and disseminate the project results, deliverables and outputs. The project addresses two call priorities, child-friendly justice and data protection, by focusing on three separate and one cross-cutting training theme: a) criminal justice and the rights of children in criminal proceedings; b) civil proceedings involving or impacting the child; c) administrative proceedings for children in migration, including unaccompanied minors; d) personal data protection for children in all types of judicial proceedings. All training activities will incorporate modules on child psychology and child-friendly communication. The action is designed to produce measurable short-, medium-, and long-term impact for the target groups, in particular through the development of diverse, sustainable learning tools in collaboration with the judicial schools of EL and CY, and through the creation of multipliers |
