Description | Construction completed on child safety improvements at the intersection of East Oak Street and Hyde Avenue near Greenacres Elementary School. The project included installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacons, new ADA-accessible ramps, upgraded sidewalks, and improved curb and gutter features to increase safety for children walking and biking to school. Additional roadway repairs and improvements were made along Hyde Avenue and East Oak Street, extending to North 15th Avenue. The project was funded by the City of Pocatello and a Child Pedestrian Safety Grant administered by the Local Highway Technical Assistance Council with funds from the Idaho Legislature. Pocatello-Chubbuck School District 25 also contributed improvements on school property. |
