"Project’s Objective : ""Child victims of all forms of trafficking : Access adequate Protection and Information based on their Specific needs in particular during Criminal investigation and procEedings"" (CAPISCE) is to strengthen the application of EU Directives in the area of the rights of victims of trafficking, with a particular attention to child victims, in EU Member States on the grounds that (SO1) VoT should have their rights to understand and to be understood respected and (SO2) VoT should benefit from an adequate protection including during investigations.The project is implemented in Belgium, France, Italy and in the Netherlands. Activities : - Coordination - 1 Interdisciplinary training curriculum for interpreters created - 1 practical guide for professionals wishing to replicate the interdisciplinary training curriculum in other EU countries. - 8 trainings of interpreters in 4 countries (France, Italy and the Netherlands and Belgium) - creation of at least 5 awareness raising tools in 4 countries for interpreters to the rights of child victims of trafficking, with a particular focus on the role of interpreters and the rights of children to access information and to be understood - a comparative research in 4 countries on the protection of child VoT, with a focus on the national application of EU directives 2011/36 ; 2011/93 and 2012/29, with a particular focus on the protection of child victims during investigations. - Organisation of a 0,5 days conference to launch the research and present the findings at the European Parliament in Brussels - Development of a policy paper on the right of child VOT to access information and to be understood - Elaboration of an advocacy strategy in 4 countries to implement the recommendations of the research Type and number of persons benefiting from the project : - Professional interpreters and cultural mediators, 400 professionals - at least 300 professional interpreters and child protection professionals in each country have access to the awareness tools developed - at least 800 professionals and policy makers both at the EU and at the national levels have access to the research on the protection of child VOT Expected results : 1. Enhanced expertise of interpreters regarding the rights and protection of child VoT. 2. Enhanced protection of child VoT including during investigations and criminal proceedings. Type and number of deliverables to be produced : 1 interdisciplinary training curriculum for interpreters, 1 practical guide for professionals wishing to replicate the training for interpreters, 8 training sessions in 4 countries, 5 tools developed in 4 countries to raise the awareness of interpreters on the rights and protection of child VOT, 4 national reports to inform the comparative research, 1 European comparative research, 1 policy paper on the right of child VOT to access information and to be understood, 1 executive summary of the advocacy strategy to implement the recommendations of the comparative research."
