Description

The overall objective of the project is to tackle gender-based violence in teen relationships by combating stereotypes & norms fuelling dating violence. Specific objectives include building the necessary capacities of teachers & educators and introducing a relevant educational game to children, having thus the formal education system at the main field of intervention. Activities -Evidence on the views of children and youth on gender based violence occurring in teen relationships & on existing strategies & policies related to school gender based violence & abuse -Development of an accredited training programme for educators & teachers and pilot implementation -Development & delivery of an online educational game for children -Networking, dissemination & promotional activities Type and number of persons benefiting directly and indirectly from the project -Children/youth: 200 directly, 2000 indirectly -Educators & teachers: 350 directly, 500 indirectly -Educational stakeholders, professionals & NGOs: More than 1000 Expected results -Reduce gender-based dating violence phenomena by: a) improving the understanding of children & youth about the underlying social and cultural norms that reinforce gender inequities and impact negatively on gender dynamics; b) increase the awareness of children & youth about sex stereotypes and how such stereotypical thinking can lead to choices, attitudes and behaviours within their own relationships. -Teachers & educators empowered on how to identify and tackle cases of gender-based dating violence. -Increase public awareness about gender based violence in teen relationships and how such phenomena promote intolerance Type and number of deliverables to be produced -10 national & 2 comparative reports (existing views, policies & practices) -1 training programme -1 e-game with a toolkit -5 national youth-led campaigns, - 2 round-tables, - 2 conferences, - 1 public contest, -5 info-days, - info material, - 3 social media accounts, - 1 website, - 1 international network.
