Description
Description | Children’s Resilience, Education, and Community Empowerment Response (CRECER, which means 'to grow' in Spanish) aims to support vulnerable communities and promote solidarity through high-quality, needs-based volunteering actions, aligned with the scope and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps - Humanitarian Aid strand. In CRECER, growth is collective: volunteers, educators, youth, and families come together to co-create learning spaces rooted in respect and solidarity. United Societies of Balkans (USB), coordinating from Greece, together with the other two European sending organisations (Scambieuropei ETS from Italy and AIPC Pandora from Spain), will mobilise 12 European volunteers to contribute to community development and resilience-building efforts in Quito, Ecuador and Nuevo Chimbote, Peru. In Ecuador, through the hosting organisation “Voluntariado Acción Social Ecuador” (VASE), the project is going to support children and youth at the Tránsito Amaguaña School, which focuses on education as a fundamental human right. The school, located inside of Mercado Mayorista in the South of Quito, is supporting indigenous and mestizo children with limited access to schooling and activity will help to address educational inequality, foster cultural inclusion and strengthen social cohesion. In Peru, through the hosting organisation “Brigada de Voluntarios Bolivarianos del Peru” (BVBP), the project targets the holistic development of youth in marginalized urban settlements. Through emotional health workshops, academic reinforcement, arts and leadership training, the project is going to promote mental well-being, youth empowerment and active participation. Volunteers will engage in direct support and capacity-building initiatives, reinforcing the call's emphasis on resilience, psychosocial support and local community engagement. The complementary activity foresees the “SkillsBoost Volunteering Strategy” which includes non-formal educational workshops on diverse topics. |
