Description | The China Argentina Radio Telescope is a large Chinese radio telescope located at the Cesco observatory in San Juan Province, Argentina. The project started about 15 years ago with a $32 million investment. The telescope was intended to be used for astronomical observations and scientific progress shared between Argentina and China. However, due to US pressure, the project was halted, key parts were held at customs for about nine months, and the telescope remains incomplete and disassembled. |
